1878 – Summer Cottage at Formby, Lancashire

From The Building News, August 9 1878: “Messes. Bell and Roper are the architects of the above house, building as a summer residence for E. R. Heap, Esq., at Formby, which is situated in Lancashire, midway between Southport and Liverpool. The shore portion of the estate is being laid out by the above architects, who have recently constructed some miles of new road, breakwater, and esplanade, and it is anticipated that in a short time Formby will become a suburb of considerable importance to Liverpool.”
