The Belgravia Hotel was a collection of Victorian Villas on Ulsterville Ave, with fine polychromic brickwork, decorative ironwork and dormers. The terrace was designed by John Boyd in 1873. In July 1979, just several weeks after closing as an hotel and re-opening as sheltered housing for elderly people, it was invaded by members of the IRA who proceeded to burn the building. Luckily none of the residents were hurt – but the building was unsalvagable and demolished.
