Selected design in architectural competition to design new town hall. Published alongside the winning design entry, probably with a hint of editorial bias against the winning entry. Described by Pevsner as “without any of the Victorian qualities we appreciate today: a bad mansard roof and a bad lantern”. Constructed and listed Grade II.
