1865 – Clarence Place Hall, May St., Belfast
Architect: W.H. Lynn, Lanyon, Lynn & Lanyon
A fine building by W.H. Lynn of Lanyon, Lynn & Lanyon influenced by the writings of Ruskin and the work of Deane and Woodward. Built as the Church of Ireland Young Men’s Society hall, it had a coffee room on ground floor, with an assembly room and reading room above. The building has polychromatic banded brickwork and gothic arches. The building won a conservation award a few years ago for its conversion.
