1852 – Railway Station, Skerries, Co. Dublin
Railway stations on this line to Belfast (Dublin Connolly, Malahide, Drogheda, Dundalk) are of a high quality with good quality ironwork and brick buildings. Skerries is no different, although it has been much altered. There are some interesting pieces of railway architecture around the station including a Signal Box and shed. Both are unfortunately falling into disrepair. Like Malahide, Skerries also has a good quality station master’s house although in Skerries it is much altered with the addition of cement render to the brickwork.
