1765 – Montalto House, Ballynahinch, Co. Down
Renowned for its garden and demesne, the entrance front is of two bays on either side of a three-sided bow; the front also having end-bows. The original ground floor is now the piano nobile after a ground floor was excavated in the early 19th century by then owner David Ker. Described by Sir Charles Brett as “a mansion of the utmost interest and with features of considerable importance…” There are plastered ceilings, the work of Robert West of Dublin.
