Do any of the councils/the board impose conditions of bicycle ramps in stairs cases?
Or have they ever? Are there any in Ireland? Be great to be in the building regs for medium to large floor plates...

she's talking about stairs with small ramps alongside for able bodied people to wheel their bikes in and out of buildings / places
so it's not disabled access

While they may appear to be a good idea at first, especially to bicycle users.
They, however, pose a potential safety risk in public buildings. One that would contravene part M and part K imo.

If the danes, japanese and americians can do it why can't the Irish at least "review it"
I think you will find and escalator will pose a safety risk... to many steps if it stops...

Grand Canal Dock Dart station has a bicycle ramp - its a metal gully that run along the bottom of the handrail - not quite as swish as the picture above, but presumably works as the bike rack is at the top of the stairs.

Those ramps are also meant to be used for people wheeling prams/buggies down the stairs. They're used a lot in Germany at train stations etc...
