The University of Ulster is to relocate many courses from its Jordanstown campus to Belfast as part of a £250m development scheme.

It's interesting, it sounds like they are gradually going to wind down Colraine as well, in favour of the two urban locations.

Surely this is what more universities ought to be doing: moving away from green-field campus to dense inner-city location (or even a mixture of the two, as at Strathclyde - see below). Strathclyde has, ironically, intruded on part of the former campus of Glasgow uni (here from1451-1870), which flitted to the leafy heights of Gilmorehill in 1870-71.
Unfortunately, I can't access easily any good pics of the campus and the architecture isn't always the best; these two are from Wikipedia (there are none on the Uni site!) and show the scale at least. The heavy landscaping is a particular feature, some of which can be seen here.

It is funny, I mean I agree absolutely that universities should be in cities and it is nice to see this green field foolishness is being rejected and regretted. However, the most successful of the ex-urban universities on these islands are the big 1950s campus universities: York, Warwick, UEA and so on, they seem to inhabit their sites and make them part of their identity. UU was originally one of these, though perhaps even more ex-urban, but it never seemed to confident enough for its Coleraine site.
