what do you want on archiseek
Is there anything that you really want to see on here?

Not a major feature or anything, but is there any way in the forums section that a little toolbar with Image, Hyperlink, Bold and Italic could feature at the top of the Quick Reply box, as seen on TV so to speak...
It'd be very handy.

i'd be inclined to leave it as it is. too much formatting can ruin a thread

Re: what do you want on archiseek
Another couple of minor points:
***
How long does a window stay 'live'? Sometimes, after composing a reply, when I go to submit it I find I've been automatically logged out and I have to log back in. And once or twice - though not recently I should add - the text has disappeared when I log back in, necessitating recompsing, which is a drag if the reply was longish.
I've taken now to copying the reply into Word before hitting submit, in case the auto log out happens, but occasionally I forget to do this.
As we all know my opinions are very important, particularly the long-winded, pugnacious ones, so it would be a shame to jeopardise them.
***
Also, is there a chance you could put a log out button on the archiseek.com front page?
***
*copies text into Word*

Re: what do you want on archiseek
Your log in session seems to last for half an hour, regardless of what you're up to - so can easily expire while composing a reply. Not a problem if you just log directly back in again, but yep it can happen you lose your post for various reasons. Just copy it before hitting submit - no need even for Word unless your IE is prone to crashing...
As for the toolbar, it'd only be something simple like this - indeed really only Image, Quote and Link would be necessary.
It just makes it much easier when you want to quickly refer back to other posts or pictures on a thread when writing a reply, which you can't do if in the seperate Post Reply page. Or just for a quick picture or two, or quote or two - again very handy.

Re: what do you want on archiseek
Or if not columns, text boxes might do the same trick
…
And what about somewhere to store drafts of posts …… for example while you’re awaiting a key piece of info to complete the post?
And maybe an on-site masseuse to ease those PC-induced musculo-skeletal disorders.
Ok, I’m just getting selfish now?

I deleted your posts cos they are largely irrelevant and offtopic

Re: what do you want on archiseek
I've got to agree with ctesiphon - his posts are certainly the most useful item on this site, if not the whole of the interweb, and often are the only reason that I get out of bed in the morning. That, and a small bladder. Anything we can do to propogate those ideas needs to be supported!
How about an Architect of the Week section? Maybe we could pick an Irish architect, get a few photos of their projects, even conduct a simple interview, and put it up as an Archeire article each week or each month. Or just choose a single building of theirs, and email them a few simple questions. After we get through the obvious ones, maybe we could move to Irish architects working abroad.
And a flashy new frontpage - although by flashy and new, I actually mean clutter-free yet funky.

Re: what do you want on archiseek
It would be good if a little archeire symbol showed up on the location bar before the url: this is actually pretty handy since it means you can delete the name of the bookmark if you include it in the bookmark folder: if sites are marked by their symbol without their names more fit on the bookmark bar.
