Double skin facades
Hello everyone
Im a final year student of Architectural Technology doing my dissertation on the concept of glass double facades, their uses and energy-saving benefits. In researching, I understand the vast majority of buildings featuring this facade system are in continental Europe. I was wondering does anybody here know if there are, or intend to be any new office buildings, etc. in Ireland that will feature a similar facade system in the near future? or indeed any other info? Any input is welcome.
Thanks

Study undertaken in Lund University Sweden might be of use

I remember schuko were pushing it in Dublin about 6 years ago.
The U2 tower is meant to have a double skin facade as far as I remember.
Cost tends to be prohibitive

Re: Double skin facades
Where are you doing AT?
Are you looking at only sealed systems, or are you also looking at open jointed rain screen systems.

If looking at the second - try the County Hall in Cork.

Finglas county council offices, the Elmpark development on Merrion Road are two that come to my mind. Both designed by the head of my course, Merritt Bucholz, of Bucholz-McEvoy Architects

Re: Double skin facades
/\/\/\ It has a double facade, in that it has two front layers that are seperated, but it has no function for natural ventilation which is what I'm presuming is what the OP is looking for.
