jobs in Montreal?
Is there a job crisis in Montreal these days for graduate architects, or it is just an illusion I have? Any suggestions?

Remember that potential employers are not bound to replying to unsolicited cvs. Is Toronto not the main business centre?

Re: jobs in Montreal?
Unfortunately, YES:( , there is a crisis in Montreal in Architectural field... I lived in Montreal before, finished master degree in architecture, 5 years experience and all I could hear was that I am over qualified!!! it was just silly, I sent maybe 60 CV's and got only 1 reply! after that I sent 4 CV's to Ireland and they were calling me the next day..in 2 weeks I was there and after 3 days had 4 job offers...so far so good....Montreal, great city to live and to have fun, but hard when it comes to find a job, and also a job that they will pay you! so as my advice, go somewhere else, you will only lose your time, also you have to speak perfect french if you DREAM about finding ANY job there.
..so good luck, pack your bag and move somewhere else.... Toronto would be my first choice! good luck!

Re: jobs in Montreal?
I think the architectural market in Montreal is not too bad now. Some firms can't find the right employees for the current job. So the important thing is to build up your experiences....But without a job, How to get experiences...?...no idea...but one thing I am sure is that the market there is not bad.

Re: jobs in Montreal?
you have to set your mind that the competition in landing a job today is very high, there are thousands of applicants in every position that will become vacant. just be patient on job hunting its not easy for these days since we are facing an economic recession.
