1958 – Former Canada Post Building, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Horrendous building with little or no human scale or charm. What is most upsetting about this building which occupies an entire block is that the previous Post Office building was a fine brick and stone edifice on nearby Portage Avenue. The internal public office is now a shadow of its former self, being a fraction of the size from when completed, and missing all of its modernist detailing. Most of the building which houses a sorting and delivery office has now been refaced and is about to become the main police station for Winnipeg.
