Naming the new Marlborough St. Bridge
Will Dublin be continuing the recent trend for writers (which I like)? Any name suggestions for it?

Hamilton Bridge would be a good choice too, seeing as the Luas lune passing over it heads to Broombrdge.
If they stick with writers, perhaps Oscar Wilde or Patrick Kavanagh.

Kavanagh needs a canal bridge. Not keen on Wilde.

Kavanagh has his seat by the Royal Canal, seems more appropriate

Quite...and what was his wish...
"O commemorate me with no hero-courageous tomb...just a canal bank seat for the passer-by"
I like the idea of Binchey Bridge

While we could do with another bridge named after a woman - I don't think Binchey is she.

Who says it needs to be a writer? maybe an albeit modest nod to Eileen Gray or Peter Rice?

May I suggest calling the bridge the 'Dublin Bus Employee's Bridge' Since they are the reason the bridge is being built in the first place.

Name it after Merkel. Might loosen her up on the debt.

There's a train station not a kilometer away named after the man. There's enough things names after Easter Rising leaders.
