Suttons, South Mall

Suttons, South Mall

Postby Radioactiveman » Fri May 04, 2012 10:24 am

Would anybody have, or be able to direct me to, a good image of the former Sutton's building (now demolished) at number 1 South Mall in Cork City?
It was destroyed by fire in 1963.

Thanks.

If you Google Suttons, 1, South Mall, Cork, on the second page of results there is a site 'charliedaly.com/ancestors' which has quite a good picture of the building. I'm afraid my skills do not allow me copy the URL to this site.

Image here http://charliedaly.com/ancestors/img/d/8/c1aea50da6b5496918c52ad418d.html It's just too big to link.

What a lovely building. Really makes you realise how much we've lost.

Below is an image from the Cork City Fire Brigade website of the fire being fought. Great looking building.
