With a purpose built Archive now provided for in Blackpool, the space has been vacated for about two years.
Triskel's development on their Tobin Street site was directly influenced by the future option to develop the Christchurch building.
A concert venue/ large exhibition space is planned for the site, retaining much of the exisiting building fabric. It will be linked to the Triskel centre via a glass atrium.
Nearby, Christchurch lane will be incorporated into Bishop Lucey Park (although retained in some fashion with distinct paving. This will bring the park right up beside the church building.
The project design team consists of Murray Ó Laoire Architects, Bruce Shaw Partnership and John O’Donovan Consulting Engineers. Joseph Lane and Sons are main contractors.

It will be great when ChristChurch is up and running as a concert venue right in the city centre. Once the Beamish site and the City Library are redeveloped the whole South Main Street area will be much more attractive combined with the nearby Elizabeth Fort off Barrack Street and St Finbarr's.
