Now that the city is decked out in all its summer finery...it is very obvious to see that the haphazard way in which tress have been added to the streetscape is having a poor effect on many areas. Trees seem to have been, and continue to be, added with very little thought.
A couple of examples: the quays, wouldnt it be fab if the quays were uniformly tree lines their entire length (particularly the quays in front of the brewery which look so empty). Custom House - the trees infront of this have grown to such an extent that they block the view of the facade. College Green - both islands of trees could do with pruning, and perhaps boxed-trees.
The O'Connell Street IAP recognised the impact that the formal layout of trees can have... will the rest of the city catch up?
