Ice skating in Dublin
That Ice Skating lark down the docks seems like a bit of a rip off.....have to see how the Smithfield thing will work out at Xmas.

Smithfield one is much bigger. Its under assembly at the moment, raised about 4 feet in the air on a platform.

Will the Smithfield one be real ice? I haven't been down to the IFSC one, but apparently it's some sort of artificial, plastic surface. The guy running it was on the radio this morning defending the event against angry customers who said that hardly any of the stuff advertised actually existed. So you may want to save your tenners for Smithfield.

Smithfield is real ice, you can see all the cooling gear down there now. Smithfield will be cool imo.... the christmas tree market, the lit torches, the view from the chimney looking down on the rink...
