I think that is the Riverside Gateway development, designed by Tom Philips and Associates and financed by Fordmount Properties. There was supposed to be a fifteen-storey tower, but I think it was reduced in planning (although the lift shaft under construction is about ten storeys, so that might be it).
I agree with Paul though; I can't see any beauty in the building.

Convince you that it's nice? No. Its all in opinion.
I think the glassed curved-corner is the best feature and I do like how the incorporated the brick. Its not too much, but it fits they building quite nicely, I'd say.

Oh my god - looking at it I could be on Clanbrassil/Patrick St, Arran Qy, or around Blackhall (with an extra few floors thrown in). Was Liam Carroll (sic) involved?!?
Mind you I'm sure it's way better than what was there beforehand (esp if that brown brick thing next door is anything to go by)

I emailed the guy at Limerick.com and he said that the building under construction in that photo was to be one of the tallest in Limerick, so maybe it is that 15 storey tower after all.

Re: Beautiful Limerick Building
that building is pretty terrible. the use of brick over white render to give some perceived depth is very ugly, something like the jury's on parnell street. 2/10.

Last time I looked, Tom Phillips and Associates were Town Planning Consultants. Is there another TPA that I'm not aware of? The practice is growing, and has an architect/planner in its employ, but I don't think that building is one of theirs. They may have been the planning consultants for the project?
Anyone else want to take credit for it?

Re: Beautiful Limerick Building
thanks Turborg,
i was in limerick the other day , henry street is some fine street compare to what it was 3 years ago
the bank of scotland building is not a very interestin building to be honest
but i suppose it fits in well to the other new buildings on the street which have simularities
