Overshadowing neighbours
Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find guidelines about positioning new buildings so they don't block the light to existing buildings? Is there an area around a window of the existing building that you can’t build in? The site I have in mind is very small in an urban area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

pj littlefair produced a bre document (british research establishment) in 1991 called Planning for daylight and Sunlight or someting to that effect. They have benchmark standards. If you need a consultant to do any work for you pm me:)
