5 year planning rule
We are buying a property which has planning permission for an extension granted in January 2002.
As permission expires in January 2007 does the work have to be completed at this stage or simply commenced.
any advice would be vrey appreciated

Re: 5 year planning rule
1. 'Significant works' should have already commenced in order for the Planning Authority to extend the duration of the planning permission.
2.The current owner should also have requested an extension on the planning permission at the start of the this year under the terms of th P&D Act 2000 if no significant works have been undertaken. I would get in touch with the local planning office.
