Eileen Gray - E1027

Postby eileengray » Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:40 am

I am interested in hearing more about Eileen Gray's house E1027 in Roquebrune Cap Martin, and what the current status of the house is.

Furthermore if anyone has any information on any friends societies or organisations, I would appriecate this information as well regardless if they are based in Ireland, France or elsewhere.

Many thanks

Hi, I'm studying architecture in DIT, Bolton Street...we visited E1027 during a study trip to France in March 2007. I'm not sure how the college organised it, but a guy showed us around and I think someone said that he was the mayor of the town or something. He had a booklet of photographs with him that showed the house in its former glory and it was really sad to see how badly it had deteriorated over the years. I have some photographs of the house, however, I am not sure how to upload them onto this site....also they are badly taken!

i dont have much information for you, since i am dealing with the same issue. Namely that is seems quite hard to get access to the houe E1027. SO, did you find out anything on this subject?

i found out that there is this Friends of E1027, who are trying to help the deteriorated state of the house. hope you had more luck.
By the way the chef of restauration of E1027 is called:
pierre antoine gatier.
