SYMBOLS OF TIME IN CHURCH ARCHITECTURE

I = Time
II = blue arrow indicates the wheel (kolo, Serbian), the ancient symbol of Time
III = two windows on each side are eight sunny months in a year
IV = three windows on each side are the symbols of three months of the each season. Twelve windows are twelve months, or one year
V = pyramid (obelisk) is the sky
VI = the ball on the pyramid is the symbol of the Sun. Four directions of the Cross: east, west, north, south. Two balls marked by thin yellow lines are the winter solstice (lower ball) and the summer solstice (upper ball).
