New Zealand Architecture
Good lord. http://www.brimer.co.nz/arch.html
Is it a case in point that countries with nice scenery have shite architecture. Or is it that narrow island counties have an aversion to buit environments, what with being naturally bounded by the sea, with some mountainy bits in the middle to give people their height 'fix'

Not too pretty, but a bit more impressive than those houses:

I think you're being a bit harsh. The USA is full of crap like that, and full of outstanding architecture as well.

Re: New Zealand Architecture
What you've got here is a single photographer showing his own work which he thinks says something about him. I would suggest that critiquing the Architecture of New Zealand based on such evidence is somewhat stupid.

Re: New Zealand Architecture
i liked a couple of bits there. welligton has te papa, christchurch has te puna. (see paul's link above)
the south island has a sense of being wild, with frontier towns and a sort of primitive nature to the buildings. queenstown would be an example.
makarora up in the mountains has some fantastic a frame huts, kinda like a house by duncan stuart down in ballyferriter. i'll dig out some photos if i can.
