On RTE news on Friday night I noted that the White House is lit up in blazing orange light, in contrast to the usual pure white light that illuminates it after dark. Is it lit in a different colour during war time?
I know that the circular presidential seal pattern in the carpet of the Oval Office is replaced with the image of an eagle during war, so is the lighting a similar ploy?
Dosn't the building look fantastic though, esp the pedimented facade, it really is a beautiful edifice, and rightly earns the commonly held opinion of being the finest and most befitting residences of all heads of state in the world.
And all thanks to a Kilkenny man.
