Architectural Competition - South Africa

Postby Rita Ochoa » Mon Jan 20, 2003 1:31 pm

The Freedom Park Trust, with the support of the National Department of Arts and Culture of South Africa, launches an international project competition for the design of a Museum, a Garden of Remembrance and a Memorial, dedicated to South Africa's new found democracy based on the values of human dignity, equality, human rights and freedom, located on Salvokop hill, Pretoria. The park is to be established as a symbol of the tortuous journey to and sacrifice made for freedom, a celebration of the achievement of democracy and a beacon of hope and inspiration for the future.

This two-stage competition, in conformity with the UNESCO-UIA Regulations, has received the approval of the International Union of Architects.
