First Modern Architecture??
Wonder if anyone out there can help in this
Years ago when I was doing a thesis on William Burgess I came across a design for a house I think by Edward W Godwin / maybe for Whistler / I think Chelsea London / Circa 1860?
White tile or brick exterior almost devoid of ornament
Interior Japanese Influence
I remember being shocked that a design like this could be produced in the Victorian Age ~ a complete contrast to Will B's work
I would be grateful for any link on this
Many Thanks
Since posting I tried a google no photos but ..
The house was known as The White House / Tile Street probably after 1878
