The building has been derelict for a decade
Derelict swimming baths in Manchester are to get a new lease of life after winning the BBC's Restoration programme.
Almost £3.4m will be poured into restoring the Grade II listed Victoria Baths, after 282,018 viewers voted for the project to win.
My money would have went on the Church in Stoke. It looked a fantastic building.

Last night was a bit too gameshowlike for my taste....
however they should have a programme a week where three restoration projects across the country appeal for funds....... mind you frequently in the series, the linking pieces were more interesting that ptainin d'arse and marianne....

It was really a shame that there couldn't be more winners..there were plenty of worthy candidates. Still, maybe the tv exposure will make more people sit up and take notice...maybe there'll be a second series...
