The rear part of the ballroom, which partially collapsed at Christmas, has now completely fallen into the water.
The collapse happened soon after high tide and the beach near the pier has been closed for safety reasons.
The West Pier Trust, which owns the Grade I listed structure, now faces a battle against time to restore it.
The trust has spent about £1.5m strengthening the pier in preparation for restoration work.
Built in 1866, the pier has been in a state of disrepair for many years.
It has been closed to the public since 1975 because of fears it may collapse.
When the first section fell into the sea Geoff Lockwood, West Pier Trust Chief Executive, said even if the concert hall fell it would not stop the £30m restoration project continuing.
Sad this, always liked piers.
