Shows the power of a good client - both back in the 60s and today. Back then, they just let the architect get on with it. The quality of some of the finishes is remarkable. Today, it needed a new client to spot the potential of the building and take it on when it was near-derelict.

And had the last recession not intervened, it would have been demolished to be replaced with crap commercial offices. Recessions have their upsides.

I still reckon it wouldnt happen in Ireland. The building would have been demolished.
