portfolio trouble

right i know this may have been asked akready but im not sure how to present my portfolio, im finding it hard enough as it is to do one but im not sure how to lay it out, i have a few ideas but im not sure should i sketch them, should i do a plan elevation, should it be in colour?

any help would be very much appriciated
