Which School has more practical?
Does anyone know which school has more of the marks going for practical work during the year? I think in DIT 70% of your grade goes for your practical work during the year while the rest is made up in exams. Whats the ratio in UCD, UL and Waterford?

Here's the course pages for the various courses.
http://www.dit.ie/DIT/built/architecture/dept1/index.html#degree1
http://www.ucd.ie/horizons/programmes/arch.htm

Waterford doesn't have an architecture course yet. http://www2.wit.ie/StudyatWIT/UndergraduateCourses/Engineering/
And UCC doesn't have it either, but it's on the CAO list so I would assume its going to be available next year.
As for you original point about weightings for various areas. Not sure if DIT is 70% for practical. But I think that might be throwing you a little off the mark, that does'nt mean that you can score say 60% in practical and because its worth so much you'll pass the year. You'll still have to pass ALL subjects. How much each element is worth has no real effect until the final year.

In DIT, 50% of your gradings throughout the year is for practical work, ie. your portfolio and 50% for exams.Thats in first year anyway!!:)
