teaching architecture for the children

I'm doing a thesis on an architecture school that a part of it is teaching kids architecture and what the architecture is ought to be and how the school can make the kid think , observe and conclude and link knowlage togther .
So i'm trying to figure out a neo philosophy for architecture education for kids , is the learing by exploring and experimenting , or it could be something else better , so plz INSPIRE !

the use of different stimuli...ie different tactile materials or the use of plants near exits so they can associate different sensations when travelling through the building. this is used mainly in building for disabled or people with disabilities but i feel it could be useful for educational buildings and will teach kids a lot about space and the use of materials.

kids how old? i'd be careful using this area as a basis for a thesis. by saying you want to exemplify the basic characteristics of what should instill architectural interest in young people, you're opening yourself up to attacks on what you consider architecture to be. what fundamental elements comprise excellence in the exploration of architectural form, context, elemental arrangement. personally i'd provide spaces where different contrasting elements could be explored to create differring and contrasting visual, oral, and emotional states.

for example provide a room where the sources of natural light can be manipulated by use of easy to adjust shading, panels of colour, the subtle nuances created by diffusion. another space could have wholly adjustable wall planes where the ideas of a floor plan can be expressed and explained in real time. another space could be purely for material. i'd imagine a pitch black room where you are invited to explore the texture and grain of timbers, stones, concrete, rough and smooth, glass, cold steel and warm cloth. any of these could be combined, along with whatever you come up with, to provide a series of exploratory devices to enlighten young people and invite them to come to their own conclusions on what creates the spaces they desire.

examine your own work to divine your own priorities as to what creates good architecture. then use simple and practical tools to enlighten the people you are designing your school for.

Where can i find similier projects ???besides , the main philosophy is how i can make out of the young childrens ( from 8till15 ) a neo generation that can experiance the flashes of the insight to change and create , and to feel that they are a part of a big community that is waiting for their ideas and vissions in the future .(actually the message must be send in a simple way that kids can understand and percieve )

what you're talking about is just an improved school system. if you want to design an annex to an architecture school where kids come for open days thats one thing, but the inherent difficulties in catching the attention of 10 year olds and enlighten them in the ways of space and form are obvious. as well as that its a bit immoral to force them into seeing your vision of the world and their place in it.

what made you approach the thesis from such a bizarre angle? have you discussed this at length with your tutors?
