View Full Version : job in british columbia monsieurg 20th July 2005, 07:00 PM someone heard about a job in british columbia? THX helloinsane 21st July 2005, 01:09 PM There was a job, but I got it already. Vancouver, at least, is pretty busy right now. Paul Clerkin 26th July 2005, 03:35 PM getting your permit sorted helloinsane ? helloinsane 26th July 2005, 04:04 PM They've already been turned down once, but have appealed the decision. Should be finding out whether it's a go sometime in the next two weeks... sw101 26th July 2005, 04:29 PM they don't make it easy for ya, do they. helloinsane 26th July 2005, 04:38 PM No kidding. Protectionist to the last. Hopefully by this time next year I'll be Canadian and won't have to go through all this crap every year any more. sw101 26th July 2005, 06:15 PM don't you have to be there for ages or marry a canuck for that? oh. helloinsane 26th July 2005, 06:43 PM I satisfy option one of the two you outlined. Kitten 31st August 2005, 05:02 AM It's ridiculously easy to get hired in Vancouver right now. It seems like every firm is hiring since the Olympic bid was successful. The Architectural Institute of British Columbia is a good place to start looking for firms you are interested. It's also a great place to spend the winter!! Kitten LandBaron 2nd November 2005, 03:31 AM I concur with Kitten... architecture firms in Vancouver are very busy. Many are looking for help. They're especially desperate for people with at least a few years of Canadian experience under their belt - people who can step right in and be productive off the bat. Frustratingly, from what I've experienced (perhaps my perspective is skewed... don't know), this desperation has not yet put upward pressure on salaries. |
