Mad building, early 1970s late 1960s I imagine - should be the base for a bad guy in a Bond movie of the period. Exteremely grim exterior, interior has a light well down its height with enclosed passenger walkways between floors cutting through it.

Who was the architect?

Sorry I didn't take a photograph now but I had architecture overload and shoulder fatigue from the camera bag....

Paul Andreu (b 1938) began his career in 1964 designing Terminal 1. He has since designed all the Terminal 2 halls, including Hall 2F, where U2 shot the video for Beautiful Day. He works for the French airport authority, who have, unusually, allowed him to design other airports around the world. He also completed the Grand Arche at La Defense, following the sudden death of the Danish architect, Johan Otto von Spreckelsen.

There's a very stark railway station at CDG. Lots of concrete.
